A blend of herbs and essential oils to help ease headaches from stress or nervous tension. Can be applied to temples and base of neck to provide relief.
Ingredients: Sweet Almond Oil, Valerian Root, Willow Bark, Lemon Balm, Vervain, Skullcap, Ginger Essential Oil, Peppermint Essential Oil, Wintergreen Essential Oil
Valerian Root (herb): Has been used in alternative medicine as a possibly effective aid in treating sleep problems (insomnia). Other uses not proven with research have included treating anxiety, stress, depression, attention deficit disorder, chronic fatigue syndrome, tremors, epilepsy, menopause symptoms, and other conditions.
Willow bark (herb): Works like aspirin, so it is used for pain, including headache, muscle pain, menstrual cramps, rheumatoid arthritis (RA), osteoarthritis and gout.
Lemon Balm (herb): The uses of Lemon Balm are extensive but for the purposes of this salve lemon balm has a depressant or sedative action on the central nervous system.
Vervain (herb): Has been used for many conditions, including stimulation of lactation and treatment of jaundice, gout, kidney stones, and headache.
Skullcap (herb): Used for trouble sleeping (insomnia), relaxing.
Ginger Essential Oil: When used topically, ginger oil can help relieve aches and pain, as well as promote normal blood circulation.
Peppermint Essential oil: Topically, peppermint oil has analgesic, anti-inflammatory and anti-spasmodic properties, it not only can relieve pain and inflammation but can also calm the spasms that cause muscle cramps.
Spearmint Essential Oil: Spearmint oil has a relaxing and cooling effect on the brain, which removes stress on our cognitive center. It helps people to concentrate, and since it is a cephalic substance, it helps to cure headaches and other stress related neural problems. This oil is supposed to be good for the overall health and protection of the brain as well.
Wintergreen Essential Oil: When rubbed on the affected area, this oil is readily absorbed through the skin and the presence of Menthyl Salicylate induces numbness and an anesthetic effect on the nerves there. It also increases circulation of the blood and brings warmth to the area. In this way, it fights pain.
Directions for use: Apply as needed to temples and back of neck.
